A cloud of smoke

tears the lungs of a weeping tree

Its branches droop with unwanted loyalty

Resting on them, a crow

Neck glittering,

with the colours we can’t see.

Dancing treasures,

it was never meant to own

Smiling, teasing, no challenge from a foe

The tumultuous sea, home and warmly greened

Powerful but never more so than a fiend

Dolphins bearing their teeth,

a smile in the bright blue water

They manipulate their prey

With their laughter

The Winners are the heroes cast

The ones on the right side of the past

They decide the truth and the preferred

The infamous and the forgotten

Can trickle through the cracks and glow

The sunlight, so merciless to the dry

lifts the crestfallen to your eye

Though unloved, some

 may still see the doe

But how could you

ever know?
