The town of Havenwood wasn’t exactly a lovely place—it was worn down, quiet, and forgotten in a way that made it feel like the rest of the world had simply moved on without it. Food and water supply were very scarce and limited, but people managed to get by daily.
But every morning, just as the sun peaks over the horizon, something out of the ordinary always occurs.
A city.
It rose in the distance without warning—glowing towers, silent streets, and windows lit with a soft golden hue. It looked untouched, almost perfect, like something out of a dream.
But it never lasted.
Within ten minutes, it fades away—completely vanishing into thin air as if it had never existed and leaving nothing behind but empty land and unanswered questions.
Many people dismiss it as an illusion, a trick of the light, or a natural phenomenon nobody cares to understand and explain. But there were still those who returned to watch it every morning, standing silently on the hill, studying it as if it meant something more—they are labelled as “crazy”, “obsessed” people that society avoided.
Leah Williams definitely did not want to be associated with them.
But then, her older brother Daniel suddenly disappeared with a simple but eerie note. At first, Leah tried to ignore it. She told herself there had to be a logical explanation—Daniel had always been curious, always chasing things he didn’t fully understand. Maybe he had gone somewhere without telling anyone. Maybe the note meant nothing.
But Daniel wasn’t the type to disappear. Not without a trace. Not without calling.
And so, for the first time, Leah found herself standing on the hill just before dawn, surrounded by the very people she used to avoid. They soon became her closest friends and allies, all bonded together by the silent question of: What if.
No one spoke much as they waited.
Then, slowly, the sky began to change.
A faint golden light stretched across the horizon—and just like that, the city appeared.
When they had gotten close enough, explored more, and learned as much as they could when they arrived inside, they realized something much darker.
Havenwood was never just a town.
And the mysterious city was so much more than what meets the eye.
