2000s movies are known for the aesthetics of looking cool, giving it a distinguishable look in terms of style, technology, and genres of film. Since movies before today have always had their own era, it makes them feel more connected as they all have common traits related whether that's an sci-fi movie or a drama. This is because the 2000s was a time for filmmakers to experiment without having to worry about budgeting nearly as much as today's world. Since many of the techniques in the 2000s were still in development, many uses of technology was as a risk rather than an essential in film making, which made it less desirable to use at the time.

The unique thing is almost every decade for cinema is known for specific genres, the reason why the 2000s is loved so much is because it is known for superhero movies and raunchy comedies. Villains and heroes were taking the world by storm, for example, the birth of spiderman, along with the marvel movies, to batman. This is the decade known for the superfans of hero movies, making them still loveable today because of their huge fanbase. comedies have been loved by many but the 2000s elevated it more by adding more jokes and making the movies more unhinged; for example, superbad, hangover, and step brothers. This shows the rise in many actors who we know today for their comedy films such as Jonah Hill, Will Ferrell, and Steve carell. Also, some of the biggest franchises, which can be considered as classics nowadays, blew up in the 2000s. Some of these include Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Fast and Furious, and Shrek.

Additionally, there was a huge jump in terms of technology used in the 90s in comparison to the 2000s. There was more of a shift in digital film, allowing for better editing and CGI. This pushed directors and writers to be more creative with their work as they were less limited on what they could do. CGI was previously used to enhance film but in the 2000s it was seen to be used as a main component of film. This is seen in movies such as Avatar and Star Wars. 2000s movies included a very diverse fashion period, making it stand out just by the clothes themselves. Some examples of these trends were cargo pants, emo style, low rise jeans and rhinestone clothing. This is because the 2000s was heavily influenced by the music industry, meaning they adapted style from trending artists.
