Nap time should be a part of every person’s day, especially high school students.

Coming from middle school, high school students face a drastic change in their workload; some may even have jobs, be part of clubs, have other responsibilities/commitments and on top of that, high school students have to decide on what they want to do in the future. All of this can be very stressful for students.

If high school students had the chance to nap during school, it could greatly improve their lives.

Giving students 30 minutes to nap after lunch would boost morale and also give students a push to get through the rest of the day. Instead of going to class after lunch with a high energy level, students would have a chance to calm down and focus more in class. Taking a nap during class may also be considered compensation for missed sleep at night. If students clear their mind before going to class, they may be able to focus and engage more in the class’s activities, which could also improve grades.

Giving high school students time to rest would improve their mental health. Students would be shown the value of a break and that they are a priority. This could also help students with their stress levels. Rested students are more likely to be more calm and patient. This would create a more relaxed atmosphere around the school and help avoid conflicts.

It may seem that adding a nap time to the day isn't important and should not be considered, but it would make a big difference to students' physical and mental well-being. I believe that giving students 30 minutes to sleep would make the high school experience more enjoyable.

Schools should implement this into their daily schedule to ensure that teenagers have a better and more positive outlook on their lives.
